Senior System Analyst

START DATE: ASAP
DURATION: 6 months with possible extension

PURPOSE OF POSITION

Our client is looking for an experienced Senior System Analyst. You must be detail oriented and have a comprehensive understanding of systems development, and excellent written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Strong requirements gathering and analysing skills
  • Experienced in use case development and validation
  • Excellent communication skills in oral and writing, especially in requirements and use cases development
  • With in-depth knowledge in large distributed system design and development
  • Familiar with requirement and use case tools such as Rational Rose, MindManager, etc.
  • Min five years experience in software development with minimium Bachelor degree in Software engineering or equivalent
  • Continuous residency in Canada for a minimum of the last five years

Required skills:

  • Minimum 5 years knowledge of Microsoft Windows Development Environment
  • Strong experience in Microsoft .NET development environment
  • Experience in architecting and implementing large scale portal websites
  • Experience in commercial portal frameworks
  • Possess team lead experience
  • Minimum B.Sc. in Computer Science or equivalent degree

 


 

Senior .NET Developer

START DATE: ASAP
DURATION: 12 months with possible extension

PURPOSE OF POSITION

Our client is looking for an experienced .NET 2.0 developer to join an established team on the IPS Project. The assignment is for a 12 month term with the possibility of an extension.

Responsibilities:

Collaborate with other development team members on design and development Work directly with business and quality assurance team members on requirements Demonstrate functionality to business representatives Quickly get up to speed in a complex business domain and complex code base Participate in team discussions, reviews and decision making processes

Experience Required:

Network Modeling Engineer

PURPOSE OF POSITION

Our client requires an intermediate to senior engineer with broad systems engineering experience but particularly knowledgeable in wireless networks and protocols. The position requires a person who enjoys the challenge of understanding and solving complex systems engineering problems primarily, but not exclusively, related to estimating system performance and risk reduction of our current system concepts, architectures, and designs. To do this you will make use of your own considerable analytical problem solving capabilities and experience in using advanced network simulation tools (e.g. OPNET, QualNet). Other aspects of the work may involve providing modeling & simulation (M&S) support for technology demos, system integration activities, training (e.g. gaming), etc.

Responsibilities:

  • Work collaboratively with other highly skilled professionals in a team environment.
  • Understand the problem space and plan the work for your team.
  • Use your experience, including modeling & simulation skills, to develop possible approaches, evaluate solutions, and make recommendations on the way forward.
  • Direct and review the work of other team members and mentor junior members as appropriate.
  • Plan and execute the verification & validation of any models developed as appropriate.
  • See that the tasks assigned to you and your team is completed on time and within the agreed budget.
  • Ensure work that you & your team are responsible for is accurate, of high quality & properly documented.
  • Follow company software coding standards and keep up to date with latest model development techniques.
  • Keep current with the state of the art in modeling & simulation.

Education:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical/science/mathematics degree is required.
  • Post-graduate training or education in area of system performance analysis and/or networking or equivalent experience is desirable.

Other:

Applicants will be required to obtain/hold a valid and current Canadian security clearance to gain access to the classified spaces, information and equipment in order to perform the work associated with this position which requires a minimum 5 year consecutive residence in Canada.

Experience Required :

  • A minimum of 5 years and preferably 10 years experience with strong and broad background in systems engineering is required.
  • Experience in network performance including statistical analysis of packet loss, latency, throughput, BER as well as good familiarity with networking protocols and the OSI stack is required.
  • Expertise in MATLAB, OPNET and/or QualNet (GloMoSim) is required as is recent significant C/C++ coding experience.
  • A good understanding of military networks is highly desirable.
  • Must be able to multi-task and has had experience working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal are required.
  • Must be a Canadian citizen with the ability to gain SECRET level clearance and work on ITAR controlled projects.
